In partnership with Family Promise, the SMBA invites you to a brief luncheon on September 16th at 12:00 noon at Milstead Baptist Church, 1613 Main Street, Milstead, GA 30012. Family Promise is a ministry that is seeking to help homeless families of Newton/Rockdale Counties. They have seven area churches already committed, and need thirteen to begin the program. This is a great way to get involved in community ministry. The luncheon is free, and you are under no obligation by attending.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TRAINING WORKSHOP CONDUCTED BY GBC
Saturday, September 18th, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM, First Baptist Church Conyers
 Many churches across our state are experiencing church growth by focusing on developing a healthy Sunday School. This years' Sunday School Workshop will give you the tools you need to make Sunday School WORK! The Workshop will offer training for preschool, children, youth and adult leaders, as well as general leaders and directors.

"LOAD A TRUCK" FOR GEORGIA BAPTIST CHILDREN'S HOMES
 We will be conducting a food/paper goods drive to replenish supplies at the Georgia Baptist Children's Homes. We will begin collections at the Sunday School Workshop at First Baptist Conyers on September 18th. The trailer will then be moved to our office at 1200 Green Street, Conyers and we will accept donations there. The final date of the drive is October 19th, when we will have the trailer at Zion Baptist in Covington for the Annual Missions Celebration. The items requested are: gallon freezer bags, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, snack foods, peanut butter, jelly, honey, and 100% fruit juice. Please join us in this ministry opportunity.   UPDATE ON BUCKETS OF HOPE PROJECT155,000 buckets for Haiti relief were collected nationwide(over 16,000 in Georgia). Terry Ryan from Florida shares the following piece of information: "We have been able to open several containers and distribute the buckets. It is still slow going due to customs/shipper issues but buckets are moving." Please keep praying for the Lord to open the doors for these buckets to get to those who desperately need them.
