Ministry Assistant
 

Principle Function
To serve the Association of Churches through the efficient operation of the associational office and effectively relate to the Associational Missionary, staff, associational ministers and staff, members of the association’s churches, and other office guests.

Relationships
  1. To be responsible to the Administrative Assistant or in their absence, the Associational Missionary or in the absence of the Missionary, the Administrative Team.
  2. Work cooperatively with the elected Associational leaders.

Responsibilities
  1. To serve as the receptionist in the Associational office, receiving and responding to phone calls, returning phone calls, and hosting office guests.
  2. To handle correspondence, scheduling of appointments, maintaining efficient files, and performing other duties as assigned that would serve our churches.
  3. To prepare the Annual Church Profiles and Book of Reports for the Annual Meeting as well as other booklets, flyers and handouts as requested.
  4. To be responsible for the communication ministry of the Association. (Databases, website, newsletter, face book, social media, etc.)
  5. To assist the Associational staff and other key leadership in the performance of their duties.
  6. To perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  1. Be a spiritually mature, dependable person, able to keep confidences and assist with a servant’s heart and work as part of a team.
  2. Dedicated Christian and an active member of an Evangelical Church.
  3. Must possess competent basic secretarial skills in organization and prioritizing. Must have experience in Microsoft Office, social media, websites, graphic design, and other basic computer programs. Must also have a basic working knowledge and ability for utilization of e-mail and the internet.
  4. Must possess good communication skills including a pleasant telephone voice.
  5. To be willing to travel independently to meetings of the Association and other events held occasionally as the need arises.
  6. Should dress in a modest manner that represents the Christian testimony of the position.
  7. Familiarity with Associational and Southern Baptist work.
  8. On occasion, as it may seem necessary, to work overtime. Compensation will be in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  9. To be available to work 24 hours a week.

Mutual Understanding
Vacations, training seminars, days off, sick leave, retirement and other such benefits shall be in accordance with guidelines stated in the current Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual. Wages will be determined at the time of employment by the Administrative Team and shall be commensurate with education, experience, and abilities.
